Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Labeling Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility will be to coordinate the creation, implementation, and maintenance of labels and printed material for the organization, ensuring objectives are met. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) principles, stock management procedures, compliance standards, ISO regulations, production efficiencies, quality control measures, and design concepts. The Labeling Specialist will develop a comprehensive understanding of cross-departmental objectives related to labeling and printed materials and will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate labeling, inventory management, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This position will report to the Product Operations Manager.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • FIFO Management: Implement and maintain FIFO principles to ensure proper rotation of stock, minimize waste, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Stock Ordering and Organization: Manage the ordering process for labels and printed materials, manage files with the printer and coordinate the proofing process. Efficiently handle the receipt, storage, and retrieval of stock, ensuring all items are correctly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
  • Compliance: Support the compliance team by meticulously reviewing design files against approved content, ensuring that all labeling activities meet regulatory requirements and internal standards pertaining to labeling, packaging, and product information.
  • ISO Adherence: Assist in maintaining ISO certification standards by ensuring labeling processes align with ISO requirements and participating in audits as needed.
  • Production Efficiencies: Collaborate with production and design teams to streamline labeling processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Understanding labeling requirements from regulatory agencies and integrating them into labeling processes.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on labels and packaging materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Design Support: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine labeling needs for products and packaging. Coordinating with design team, stakeholders, and external vendors to execute labeling initiatives effectively, considering both aesthetic appeal and functional requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of labeling activities, inventory levels, quality control inspections, and compliance documentation, diligently adhering to existing processes and tracking systems. Ensure the integrity and accessibility of labeling records.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to staff involved in labeling processes to ensure consistent execution and adherence to standards. Support the production team with product relabeling efforts to address unique requirements of international jurisdictions or to rectify quality assurance labeling deficiencies, on an as needed basis.
  • Audits: Periodically complete comprehensive internal audits of digital and physical labels, tracking systems, including product information, warnings instructions, with associated documentation, identifying any discrepancies or inconsistencies in packaging information, addressing them appropriately, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in labeling, stock management, or related roles.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in design software and ability to contribute to label design concepts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in Email, Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Work Environment:

The Labeling Specialist typically works in a factory or plant environment where chemical products are manufactured, with a knowledge of office equipment and software. This position may involve exposure to chemicals, heavy machinery, and loud noise, and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.

Hourly Rate Range: $25- $30

Job Type: Full-Time
